Fortunato Chocolate in Issaquah Washington USA 🇺🇸
On a sunny January day Lauren Adler and I jumped in a car to go meet up with Adam Pearson and see Fortunato Chocolate in Issaquah WA.
Fortunato has a retail shop with a surprisingly large selection of products made with their special Peruvian origin chocolate. Read more about their discovery of cacao which was thought of as extinct until 2009. (Story here)
At the retail location we sipped hot chocolate while browsing the well stocked shelves and sampling most of the products.
I couldn’t leave without the Chocolate Covered Dates as well as the Cacao Nibs and Dates, a unique concoction of chopped dates mixed with cacao nibs. I’m finding this combination addictive.
No photo of the chocolate covered dates, my husband very much liked them. He was also our chauffeur for the day, driving from Seattle to Issaquah should at least pay a bag of delicious chocolate treats.
Adam’s new book is available in the retail location as well as on their website. Finding Fortunato: How a Peruvian Adventure Inspired the Sweet Success of a Family Chocolate Business.

Fortunato has two locations within a few blocks. The second location is their kitchen where all of the chocolate products are made and packaged. We were able to take a quick peek into the kitchen. A few of the products were available to purchase at the kitchen, full inventory is at the retail store.
